US Kids Golf Winter Tour 2012 Player of the Year!

2.24.12 - This past 1 year of golf has been a roller coaster ride for us all.  Starting from the Winter Tour 2011 and getting last place to the tough HOT summer tournaments and getting 2nd place in the overall of the Summer 2012 Tour to the Winter Tour 2012 and getting Player of the Year!  We can't believe how much you have improved your game.  It is truly amazing and you absolutely deserve the big trophy.  I know that we put a lot of pressure on you during 'crazy practice' and we are sorry for the times we made you cry.  I never want to do that to you again.  I hope you had fun in the 7 and under division because really, that's all we want for you.  Have a goal, work hard for it and have fun while doing it.  These are big lessons in life that most kids and even adults don't get to experience.  It'll give you a better life in the long run.  Penny, I had a great time watching you play this past year.  I'm so envious but proud of how awesome you play and how you stuck through the tough times and fought through it.  I look up to you!

The championships were at Half Moon Bay.  It was SUPER cold and windy.  Poor Pepper was so cold but you didn't complain or whine the whole time.  Thank you for being a good sister.  You had some tough holes, Penny, but still fought through it and placed 3rd. You finished strong!

Mommy's 40th Birthday

2.23.13 - Maybe it was because Penny had the championships the next day, but I didn't feel like making a big deal about turning 40.  I was really happy spending time with all the people I love.  I have a lot to be thankful for and really that's all I wanted to remember.  We used Daddy's patents reward money and took the family to dinner.  Low key, but special to me.  I love my family.  Thank you for the wonderful 40 years!

Grandpa's 75th birthday

2.15.13 - Today was Halabuji's 75th birthday.  Your grandpa loves you girls so much.  We have to make sure to spend as much time with him and make him feel loved.  We ate a nice dinner at Lungomare's in Jack London Square.  Happy 75th birthday!

The BIG scare

2.24.12 - After your amazing game at Diablo Creek, you started to feel sharp pains in your lower abdomen during the ride home.  I drove you to the ER and the docs suggested you stay the night to check for an appendicitis in the AM.  I was scared.  Daddy was scared.  And I'm sure you were scared.  Around midnight we finally got a room and you and I shared a bed together.  You didn't get much sleep and I was worried all night.  In the morning we took the ultrasound and they couldn't really find anything wrong.  Plus, you were feeling a little better.  The surgeon felt that it would be ok for you to go home since he didn't think you had an appendicitis.  Not the best way to celebrate a great victory at Diablo Creek but we're just happy you were ok.  Poor Penny.  You were so brave.

Winter Tour 2012 - Diablo Creek

2.10.13 - A year ago today you played in your very first tournament in the US Kids Winter Tour 2011 at Diablo Creek.  We were such rookies to the tournament world.  You didn't even have golf shoes so Daddy went out and bought you a pair.  You should look back at my blog (2.12.12) when I wrote about it.  It was really strange coming back to Diablo Creek.  I remember how I felt last year.  Everything seemed bigger.  More scary.  So many unknowns.  When I came back today, I was calm and more experienced (as a guest).  I can only imagine how you felt.  We did a lot of crazy putting practice here.  I drove you out here 3 times so you could get used to the fast greens.  Your hard work paid off again.  You got first place!  Can you believe that last year, you got last place and this year you got first!  Wow!!  62 versus 35!!  Unimaginable!
